Get to know the TAG-Ed impact by meeting a few of the over ONE MILLION students we work with each year.

TAG-Ed is a small non-profit with a large mission: to expand and diversify the STEM education pipeline in our state. And we have been successful in our 14 year history: we have placed over 800 students in (paid!) internships, engaged over 500 teams in website design competitions, and awarded over $840,000 in scholarships for local students. But here’s the thing: we can’t do any of this without your help.

Georgia Gives Day, a statewide fundraiser to drive awareness for non-profits across our state, is right around the corner on November 17. Every dollar we raise will go directly towards advancing our STEM education initiatives, and every donation – no matter how small – will make a significant impact on Georgia educators and students. Meet the students you’ll be impacting.

Nia Morrison


Meet Nia Morrison, a current senior at Arabia Mountain High School and a budding linguist. Before TAG-Ed, she was unsure how to combine her varied interests in business, technology, and language; today, she has the dream of running her own translation company.

“I came into Arabia Mountain having many interests, but one of them was definitely business. As I got older, I realized that the business world wasn’t the perfect fit for my interests. And that’s where TAG-Ed helped me. Through the JumpStart program, I was introduced to ways that I could tie in business skills to anything that I wanted to do, and I’ve found ways to combine my interests. Ultimately, I want to own my own translation company. The interview skills and I’ve gained and the constructive feedback I’ve gotten from business professionals through TAG-Ed will help me get there.”

Phi Dac Nguyen


Three years ago, Phi interned through TAG Education Collaborative with First Data. Today, he is a sophomore studying finance at Georgia State University, in addition to working as a teller at Chase Bank and managing his family business.

“My time with TAG-Ed was the most challenging and precious time I had during high school. It created the opportunities for me to learn, collaborate, compete and solidify my future vision. Because of TAG-Ed, I have met many influential mentors who have taught me how to work and communicate in a business environment. As an immigrant, it is a dream come true for me to experience the professionalism of that working environment. TAG-Ed really empowered my life.”

Faith Lucas


Meet Faith Lucas, a junior at Milton High School. She spent this summer working with Turner Broadcasting, learning the ins-and-outs of the television industry. Originally worried her summer would be filled with busy work, she was amazed by the responsibilities and opportunities she was given as a high school student. Now looking toward her future, Faith hopes to pursue a business career in the state of Georgia long-term.

“It really brought me full circle in terms of what I wanted to do later on. I knew I kind of wanted to do something with business, but this internship helped me streamline. It was a really great experience, and I can’t wait to do it next summer.”

Andrew Oliviera


Meet Andrew Oliviera, a two-time TAG-Ed intern who spent his high school summers interning with SunTrust and the Technology Association of Georgia.

Now a senior at Georgia Tech studying Computer Science with a focus in Artificial Intelligence, he has high hopes for his future career – thanks to TAG-Ed.

“For me, TAG-Ed gave me self-confidence. Before working with TAG and SunTrust through the TAG-Ed internship program, I was unsure about my future career and intimidated by large companies and jobs. My internships in high school opened my eyes to the fact that I can make significant contributions, take on important jobs, and that I have something to offer large companies. I am currently finishing up my last year at Georgia Tech, and I am currently working for State Farm. I am not worried about my career now because I now have the self-confidence I need and a plan for my future which is looking bright thanks to TAG-Ed.”

Victor Barr


Get to know Victor, who was an intern at Georgia Tech Research Institute three years ago – and still works there today.

“Because of [this internship], that’s basically how I figured out I wanted to do Computer Engineering at Georgia Tech. I was doing these really cool projects that helped me not just understand what’s going on in my classes, but what I can do with that.”

Rhea Rawla


Meet Rhea Rawla, a current Northview High School senior and a two-time TAG-Ed intern. After mastering QA testing at Cricket Wireless and then exploring marketing strategy with Mobile Labs, Rhea set her sights on a long-term business career. Now applying to colleges, Rhea ultimately hopes to one day run her own mobile technology business.

“Both of my previous employers have written recommendation letters for me, they’ve helped me out through the college process, and given me a lot of insight into what I want to do with my life. I thank TAG-Ed so much for giving me the opportunity to understand what I really want to do with the future.”

Carishma Chinoy


Meet Carishma Chinoy, a film student at Georgia State University who first gained exposure to the industry through her internship with TAG Education Collaborative. After her experience at a local production company, she decided that she wanted to stay in Atlanta to help build the budding film industry.

“It provided me a foundation of experience, knowledge, and a networking base that I can now take with me later on as I progress on in my career. My TAG-Ed experience is behind every choice that I make today, and without my TAG-Ed experience and without my TAG-Ed internship, I wouldn’t be the person I am today.”

Ahmaad Daniels


Meet Ahmaad, a senior at Arabia Mountain High School in Lithonia. He wants to become an astrophysicist, and TAG-Ed is helping him get there.

Through TAG Education Collaborative, Ahmaad had his first internship in the technology community this past summer. Each week after school, he participates in TAG-Ed’s JumpStart! program, an initiative to help him develop interview and application skills, guide him through the college admissions process, and develop the confidence to one day achieve his dreams.
