Registered Tech Apprenticeship Program

As the first official registered tech apprenticeship program in the state of Georgia, our program aims to provide a straightforward path to qualified and certified talent for current and future job openings in the technology sector while focusing on equipping individuals from underrepresented groups with the necessary training to start a career in technology.

Applicants should register for and take the Bridge Builders competency assessment. Applicants must be at least 18 years old and eligible to work in the US for the duration of the program. Candidates who pass the assessment are moved into the eligibility pool.

When apprenticeship opportunities with a participating hiring partner are available, candidates will be invited to interview with Bridge Builders staff. Candidates interview with Bridge Builders and, if selected, move on to employer interviews. Acceptance into the program is contingent on being interviewed, selected, and hired by the hiring company.

If selected by a hiring partner for an apprenticeship, Bridge Builders will notify candidates and register them as apprentices. Apprenticeship begins with full-time technical training to build skills before on-the-job training.

After successfully completing technical training, apprentices continue to one year of paid on-the-job training. At the completion of the program, apprentices will receive a portable credential and the opportunity to be retained by the employer.

The employer interviews and selects an apprentice from the application pool.

The employer designates mentors and managers and initiates a work plan for the apprentice.

Employers are required to meet with Bridge Builders at the 1, 5, and 10-month marks.

At the end of the apprenticeship, the employer has the opportunity to retain the apprentice by extending a permanent job offer.
