Program Overview

The TAG-Ed High School Summer Internship Program offers exceptional rising high school juniors and seniors (age 17+ by June 1st, 2026) the opportunity to gain real-world experience in STEM fields. Participants are matched with host companies based on their interests and qualifications, working collaboratively on projects with clear goals over an eight-week period.

  • Selected students are paired with participating host companies based on their interests and qualifications
  • The internship spans eight consecutive weeks during the summer, beginning June 1st
  • Paid and unpaid internship opportunities
  • The program pairs two or more interns to work together on a provided project with clear goals and objectives set by the company
  • Interns will have the opportunity to work closely with a professional who has expertise and/or a professional background in the relevant field

Note: Student applicants must be eligible to work in the U.S. to be eligible for an internship.

The Problem

College students are often prioritized for internships, leaving high school students with limited opportunities to explore potential career paths. As a result, many high schoolers miss out on valuable hands-on experience that could shape their future career interests and opportunities.

Limited High School Internships

  • High school students often face a shortage of internship opportunities, limiting their ability to gain hands-on experience, explore career paths, and develop essential workplace skills before entering college or the workforce.

Workforce Development

  • The U.S. is projected to face a talent shortage and skills gap leading to an estimated economic loss of $8.5 trillion by 2030. To help combat this, there’s a need to cultivate a skilled future workforce to meet the growing demands of STEM industries.

Our Solution

Our High School Summer Internship Program bridges the gap between academic learning and practical application, preparing students for future STEM careers while supporting the development of Georgia’s workforce.

Hands-On Learning

  • By engaging in projects with defined objectives, interns apply theoretical knowledge to practical tasks, enhancing their understanding and skills in STEM.

Strengthened Resumes

  • 89% of employers believe students with internship experience have a competitive advantage when seeking college internships or full-time employment.

Employer Engagement

  • Host companies benefit from the fresh perspectives of young talent while mentoring potential future hires. In fact, 40% of full-time employees come from a company’s internship program.

For Students

1. Create an account and apply for internships

Please click the button on the right to access the AI-Matched Resume Database and Job Board and create an account.

Within this platform, you will find all internship positions which are currently accepting student applications. Students must be rising high school juniors or seniors, aged 17+ at the start of the program (June 1st), and be eligible to work in the U.S. to be eligible for an internship.

2. Interview with the TAG-Ed Team

If the applicant is chosen to advance to the next stage of the selection process, we will reach out to you directly to schedule a first-round interview with the TAG-Ed team.

This interview will give us a chance to learn more about the applicant, as well as allow the student to ask questions and better understand the program.

3. Interview with the Host Company

After completing the interview with TAG-Ed, if you are chosen to move forward, you will be matched with one of our participating host companies.

Once matched, the host company will conduct its own interview with you to learn more about your qualifications, experience, and interests. This step allows the company to assess your fit for their specific needs before making a final decision regarding your placement.
