TAG Registered Tech Apprenticeship Program

Creating Tech Talent Pipelines.

Building the Future.

The Technology Association of Georgia creates alternative pathways to access an array of tech talent and help organizations address digital skills shortages through the time-tested model of apprenticeship.

Our unique Registered Tech Apprenticeship Program provides a straightforward, step-by-step track to in demand jobs.

  • Selected candidates are hired as full-time employees and will attend technical certificate programs.
  • Apprentices receive 1000-2000 hours of on-the-job training.
  • At the completion of the apprenticeship program, apprentices will be awarded a U.S. Department of Labor certificate of completion that indicates specialized training in a particular occupation.

Economic Mobility

Economic Mobility

There is no expense for either the apprentice or the employer regarding technical training.

Step 1

Applicants should register for and take the TAG-Ed competency assessment. Applicants must be at least 18 years old and eligible to work in the US for the duration of the program. Candidates who pass the assessment are moved into the eligibility pool.

Step 2

When apprenticeship opportunities with a participating hiring partner are available, candidates will be invited to interview with TAG-Ed staff. Candidates interview with TAG-Ed and, if selected, move on to employer interviews. Acceptance into the program is contingent on being interviewed, selected, and hired by the hiring company.

Step 3

If selected by a hiring partner for an apprenticeship, TAG-Ed will notify candidates and register them as apprentices. Apprenticeship begins with full-time technical training to build skills before on the job training.

Step 4

After successfully completing technical training, apprentices continue to one year of paid on-the-job training. At the completion of the program, apprentices will receive a portable credential and the opportunity to be retained by the employer.
